Firm’s sale marks status shift to vet-owned

The owner of Tech Systems Inc., a small business in Alexandria, Va., has sold the company to its president, a military veteran.

The sale between Nancy Blethen, the previous owner, and Scotty Martin, allows Tech Systems to claim the status of veteran-owned small business. Blethen sold 100 percent of her interest in the company, according to the company announcement.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed and the senior management team for Tech Systems remains in place.

Martin had been president of the company since 2014 and now adds the CEO title.

He served with the U.S. Army Military Policy in Korea and later served in the Army Reserves, according to his bio on the company website.

Tech Systems provides a variety of services including supply chain management, operations and maintenance, military uniform and gear sustainment and professional services. Customers include the Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines, FCC, HHS and the Interior Department.
