Lockheed Martin wins two contracts to support Air Force F-16 aircraft

Lockheed Martin has won two contracts with the Air Force totaling $38.8 million to provide contractor engineering and technical services in support of the F-16 aircraft.

Under the first contract, Lockheed will provide services in support of the F-16 aircraft for foreign military sales requirements. The company will provide personnel to improve the skills of the Air Force military and civilian personnel to help them become self-sufficient in systems maintenance, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work will take place in Bahrain, Chile, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Poland, Taiwan and Turkey, and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2017.

Under the second contract, Lockheed will provide services in support of the F-16 aircraft at various bases belonging to the Air Force Materiel Command and National Guard Bureau. With this contract as well, the company will provide personnel to improve the skills of the Air Force military and civilian personnel to help them become self-sufficient in systems maintenance.

Work will be performed at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., McEntire Joint National Guard Base, S.C., Tucson, Ariz., Toledo, Ohio, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, and Sioux Falls, S.D., and is expected to be completed by Jun. 30, 2014.
