MicroTech wins $86M contract to support Navy fleet logistic center

MicroTech has won an $86 million blanket purchase agreement with the General Services Administration to support a Navy cost cutting initiative under the NGEN program.

MicroTech has won an $86 million blanket purchase agreement with the General Services Administration to support a Navy cost cutting initiative.

Under the BPA, MicroTech will help the Navy Fleet Logistic Center Norfolk reduce the costs of acquiring customer technical representative support services for the Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN), the company said in a release. NGEN is the Navy's IT backbone and is a contract held by HP Enterprise Services. It was formerly known as the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet.

MicroTech will also help the Navy improve acquisition, leverage department-wide purchasing options and build partnerships with vendors.

According to MicroTech president and CEO Tony Jimenez, the company will provide user services including account, application, contract, network and security management, as well as technical support.
