SRA International has won an $18 million contract to support the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), co-sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration.
VAERS is a national vaccine safety surveillance program that collects reports from vaccine manufacturers, providers, and recipients about possible side effects, or adverse events, that occur after the administration of vaccines licensed for use in the United States, SRA said in a release.
Under the contract, the company will provide application development and maintenance, data processing/management, medical coding, clinical research, information technology and outreach to the public, vaccine manufacturers and immunization programs.
