Five win contract to support U.K. managed email services framework

Five companies have won spots on the United Kingdom’s U.K. Managed Email Services Framework IDIQ contract. No value was given for the contract.

The winners are:

  • Accenture
  • British Telecom
  • Computer Sciences Corp.
  • General Dynamics Information Technology
  • Vodafone

Under the contract, the five companies will compete to support the United Kingdom’s policy to centrally manage the acquisition of common goods and services through an integrated procurement function that spans four years, General Dynamics said in a release.

The company plans to provide managed email services, delivery and migration services, secure email, secure message and routing, mobile device management, white pages and directory services to a number of public and non-profit organizations, General Dynamics said.

According to the Crown Commercial Service, the U.K. government agency that let the contract, the companies will provide core services such as secure email gateway, mobile device management, white pages and directory service and email router.

The value of the contracts will be established as each task order is competed.
