Army seeking LTE-savvy companies for soldier situational awareness program

The Army is looking for companies who can design, develop and implement cellular Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology to support a communications and situational awareness program meant to aid the warfighter.

The Army is looking for companies who can design, develop and implement cellular Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology to support a communications and situational awareness program meant to aid the warfighter.

Companies will adapt commercial cellular and wireless technology to provide soldiers with extended, secure, wireless communications across the battlefield, according to the sources sought notice.

The work outlined in the notice will also enhance the soldier’s intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities, thereby improving solider situational awareness and increasing mobility.

The notice was posted on Sept. 5, 2014. Responses are due by Oct. 6, 2014.
