Amazon Web Services has officially launched its cloud solution for the Central Intelligence Agency, according to NextGov.
The cloud is a public cloud computing environment built on private premises and will eventually provide all seventeen intelligence agencies with access to a cloud infrastructure for computing, analytics, storage, collaboration and other services, NextGov reported.
Amazon’s $600 million contract with the CIA was hotly contested by IBM at the end of 2013.
