SAIC becomes Amazon Web Services reseller

Science Applications International Corp. is how a reseller for Amazon Web Services, the company announced Thursday.

SAIC is currently already part of Amazon’s Partner Network, and currently integrates Amazon Web Services into its deliver of cloud offerings to both federal and commercial markets, the company said in a release.

The company recently switched the National Weather Service’s weather forecasting system over to Amazon’s cloud. The project aligned with SAIC’s cloud systems integration strategy, said Charles Onstott, SAIC vice president of Cyber, Cloud and Data Science.

How will SAIC maintain being vendor neutral moving forward when it comes to commercial cloud providers if they resell one but not others? Will their customers be getting the best cloud that fits their needs at the best price performance under this set up?
