Leidos subsidiary wins $13M contract for NATO fuel monitoring system

Leidos has won a $13 million contract to manage NATO’s fuel monitoring system.

The company’s wholly owned subsidiary Varec Inc. is the entity that won the contract.

Under the contract, Varec will provide activities to manage, implement, test and maintain the NATO monitoring system, which assists with the management of petroleum oils and lubricants sales, fuel inventory, and governance, Leidos said in a release.

The implementation of an enterprise fuel monitoring system on a central server will collect inventory and fuel transactions data from each of NATO’s clients at its military installations.

"The contract provides an opportunity to deploy several significant new capabilities for [the fuel monitoring system] including a new enterprise mobile application for automatic data collection of fuel sale, receipt and shipment information," said Tim Archer, chief technology officer at Varec, Inc.

The system will also include an enterprise data synchronization technology that automatically exchanges data through the internet between servers distributed in theatre and enterprise server, Leidos said.
