TASC wins $6.9M contract to conduct studies, provide R&D

TASC Inc. has won a $6.9 million contract to provide the Air Force with research and development on the Solid Rocket Motor Modernization study.

TASC Inc. has won a $6.9 million contract to provide the Air Force with research and development on the Solid Rocket Motor Modernization study.

Under the contract, TASC will conduct a study to develop and investigate propulsion options and impacts for replacement or modernization of the Minuteman III fielded force.

TASC will also study the Stage III Generalized Energy Management Steering versus Thrust Termination, Roll Control trade study, and conduct mechanistic aging and surveillance, the Defense Department said.

Work will be performed at San Bernardino, Calif., and is expected to run through July 31, 2015.

Funding in the full amount of the contract is obligated at the time of the award.
