Salient names new director of cybersecurity center

Salient Federal Solutions has named Carlos Fernandes director of the company’s Cyber Security Center of Excellence, where he will be responsible for developing and implementing the company’s cybersecurity strategy.

Fernandes will also expand market distinctions and innovations to include a full range of cybersecurity capabilities for predicting and preventing cyber incidents.

He joins Salient from Agile Cyber Security Solutions LLC, which he founded and served as managing principal and CEO. He was previously in the U.S. Air Force as an intelligence applications officer during Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Fernandes holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Military Institute, and a master’s in INFOSEC business administration from James Madison University.
