Cortana Corp. wins $7.8M option to support sensor programs

Cortana Corp. has won a $7.8 million option to provide the Navy with research and development for sensors and systems.

This R&D will support the Advanced Sensor Application Program and the Remote Environmental Sensor Program.

Sensors and systems support a variety of naval aviation missions, including air-under-sea warfare, defense suppression, electronic attack, naval warfare and amphibious, strike and anti-surface warfare, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work will be performed in Falls Church, Va., and is expected to be completed by September 2014.

Funding in the amount of $525,000 is obligated at the time of the award, and will not expire at the end of fiscal 2014.
