Who are 2013's best contractors?

The 11th Annual Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards last night celebrated the innovative companies and executives who made an impact in the last year on the government contracting industry.

The awards program is produced by the Professional Services Council and the Fairfax, Va., Chamber of Commerce.

Nine awards were made, including a hall of fame induction, a public sector partner of the year award, four contractor awards, and three executive awards.

The winners were:

Contractor of the Year (Less than $25 million):

Contractor of the Year ($25 million - $75 million):

Contractor of the Year ($75 million - $300 million):

  • Salient Federal Solutions (Winner)
  • Altamira Technologies Corp.

  • Novetta Solutions
  • Systems Made Simple

Contractor of the Year (Greater than $300 million):

  • Carahsoft Technology Corp. (Winner)
  • Accenture Federal Services

  • MacAulay-Brown Inc.
  • Northrop Grumman Information Systems
  • TeleCommunication Systems Inc.

Executive of the Year (Less than $75 million):

  • Kymm McCabe, ASI Government (Winner)
  • David Fout, Acquilent

  • Jeff Handy, Fulcrum IT Services
  • Larry Letow, Convergence Technology Consulting
  • Mehul Sanghani, Octo Consulting Group
  • Scott Goss, Preferred Systems Solutions
  • Kim Hayes, The Ambit Group 

Executive of the Year ($75 million - $300 million):

 Executive of the Year (Greater than $300 million):

It would be a serious error to let other contractors judge who is the best. Only clients can tell you that. The views of stockholders and competitors are important, but that won't tell you the best. Darrell Issa can't tell you the best either, but he may be able to help you focus on the worst
