Alion takes home $47M Air Force order for emerging systems

Alion Science and Technology Corp. has won a $46.9 million delivery order to provide the U.S. Air Force with advanced processes for emerging systems.

The delivery order was awarded under the company’s Advanced Materials, Manufacturing and Testing Information Analysis Center contract.

The objective of this order is to advance materials and manufacturing and testing technology for next-generation components and systems, the Defense Department said.

Work is expected to be completed by Sept. 29, 2016.

Funding in the amount of $219,802 is obligated at the time of the award.
