Raytheon appoints new VP, CEO of Raytheon International

Harris has been with the company since 1983

Raytheon Co. has named John Harris vice president of business development and CEO of Raytheon International.

Harris succeeds Thomas Culligan, who plans to retire from the company at the end of the calendar year. Culligan is serving as senior advisor until that time, the company said.

As vice president of business development and CEO of Raytheon International, Harris will be responsible for worldwide sales and marketing, the company’s international business and its government relations operations functions, Raytheon said.

Harris joined the company in 1983, and since then has held a slew of positions within the company, including vice president of operations and contracts for Raytheon’s former Electronic Systems business; vice president of contracts for the company’s government and defense businesses; and others.

He was most recently general manager of the company’s new Intelligence, Information and Services business.

Harris holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Boston University.
