$29M imaging contract awarded

McKesson Technologies Inc. has won a $29.9 million contract modification to continue supporting a medical imaging system for the U.S. military.

A digital imaging network picture archive communication system is used to easily store and retrieve electronic images and reports such as X-rays, CAT scans and MRI results. It is a network system that is designed to increase access to patient information.

The award to McKesson of Alpharetta, Ga., is the first option year of a two-year base contract. The deadline for the work is Aug. 22, 2015.

The Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies use the system.

The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support in Philadelphia let the contract. They received 13 responses to the solicitation.
