FLIR Systems wins $42.7M contract to provide infrared imaging systems

FLIR Systems Inc. has won a $42.7 million task order contract with the U.S. Navy to provide handheld imaging systems and associated support.
The systems are known as Hand Held Imager-Miniaturized Long Range systems, which are miniaturized, infrared, long-range handheld systems that have an integrated laser range finder, the Defense Department said.
Work will be performed in Billerica, Mass., and is expected to be completed by June 2018.
Funding in the amount of $950,000 is obligated at the time of the award, and will not expire at the end of the year.
