Cloud certification programs might be moving the wrong way

There's a lot of hype around cloud services, boosted by Amazon Web Services' new cloud certification program. Now that their program is out, other cloud providers will follow suit. Is this trend fueled too much by hype?

Amazon Web Services’ new certification program is a response to the need that organizations have to both validate and train employees on the use of the company’s public cloud technology.

This will cause other companies like Microsoft, HP, Rackspace and others to come out with emerging certification programs, but this will mean that we’re moving in the wrong direction, according to InfoWorld.

It indicates that businesses aren’t as focused as they should be on creating a business core, but are rather selecting wholesale cloud computing implementations around a service or technology provider based on hype.
