Cloud services provider RightNow has named Pete Stoneberg deputy chief information officer of its government cloud unit and vice president of cloud delivery.
Stoneberg’s role will be to provide vision and day-to-day leadership for the RightNow CX Government Cloud platform and solution for federal and Defense Department commands, engaging with the company’s public sector customer base as a senior solution architect, a company announcement of June 15 said.
He also will be instrumental in rolling out best practices to RightNow’s government customers, helping them seamlessly move to and extend the cloud computing model to multiple agencies, the company said.
Stoneberg brings extensive knowledge of the federal technology marketplace, including purchasing, certification and security requirements.
Stoneberg, who joined RightNow in 2008, previously served as vice president of customer care and cloud services.
Before that, he held a range of enterprise architecture and hosting roles, most recently as vice president of platform engineering at Information Resources Inc. and as director of engineering at Cendant-Orbitz.
