Karen Knowles brings 17 years federal sales experience

SAS Inc. has promoted Karen Knowles to general manager of the company’s federal government business unit.

Under her leadership, the Arlington, Va., federal business unit will continue to expand SAS’ focus in the national security and defense sectors, a company announcement states.

Knowles has been with SAS for five years. She brings 17 years of federal government software sales experience to the role, including management positions at Business Objects, Crystal Decisions and other software companies.

“I am confident she will provide strong leadership and direction to the team as we continue on a path of aggressive growth,” said Carl Farrell, executive vice president of SAS Americas.
