The 2009 Rising Star award winners announced

This year's 28 winners reflect the breadth and depth of young talent in the federal information technology community.

The 1105 Government Information Group is pleased to announce the winners of the 2009 Rising Star awards.

Now in its fourth year, the awards program honors up-and-coming employees in the public and private sectors who have made an early — and substantive — mark in the government information technology community.

Supervisors or co-workers nominate individuals for the awards, and a distinguished panel of judges chooses the winners.

This year’s judges selected 28 individuals from more than 160 nominations. The winners will be spotlighted next month in the print and online editions of Federal Computer Week, Government Computer News and Washington Technology. The winners will also be recognized at the GCN Awards Gala on Oct. 22. Look for an invitation to that event in the weeks ahead.

Here is the list of winners. If you see an error, send an e-mail message to risingstar@1105media.com or leave a comment below. Although we won’t post the comments, we will correct any mistakes.
