UPDATED: Powers-King temporarily deputy at GSA

Mary Powers-King is also the director for governmentwide acquisition contracts and Information Technology Schedule 70 programs at ITS.

Mary Powers-King will be deputy assistant commissioner for Integrated Technology Services until the current deputy returns, according to a new memo from the General Services Administration.

John Johnson, retiring assistant commissioner of the Federal Acquisition Service for ITS, issued a revised memo to employees at 5:30 p.m. April 29, saying Powers-King will be deputy until the current deputy, Mike Sade, returns to work.

Sade is absent for personal reasons, Johnson wrote. The memo doesn’t say how long Sade will be out of the office.

In a move that some people considered unexpected, Johnson announced Powers-King’s new role as deputy April 28. Powers-King is director for governmentwide acquisition contracts and Information Technology Schedule 70 programs at ITS.
