Who's on first?


Edward Driesse was named Louisiana's chief information officer. Driesse most recently was CIO at the state's Department of Health and Hospitals. Driesse will direct the Information Technology Office in the Administration Division and advise the governor and executive cabinet on IT matters.

Andy McCann was named vice president and geographic sales leader of Plano, Texas-based EDS Corp.'s U.S. Government and Public Sector business. He succeeds David Hadsell, who was promoted to vice president and geographic sales leader for EDS' commercial business and state and local government health care business. McCann most recently led a major segment of the company's state and local government health care business.

Diann McCoy joined consulting firm Acquisition Solutions Inc. and will lead the Arlington, Va., company's defense business. McCoy is a former acquisition executive at the Defense Information Systems Agency. She is also a former executive of the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Air Force.

Curt Kolcun, formerly vice president of Microsoft Corp.'s federal division, was named vice president of its parent organization, Microsoft's Public Sector business group. Kolcun replaces Linda Zecher, who was promoted to an expanded role in Microsoft's Worldwide Public Sector.

Paul Maritz joined VMware Inc. as president, chief executive officer and member of the board of directors. Maritz was part of the core executive leadership at Microsoft and retired in 2000. He replaces Diane Greene, one of Palo Alto, Calif.-based VMware's co-founders.

Paul Cofoni, CACI International Inc. president and CEO, was named chairman of the board of nonprofit AFCEA International, based in Fairfax, Va.

Joseph Doherty joined Affiliated Computer Services Inc. as executive vice president and group president of the Dallas company's government solutions group. Doherty most recently was president of the Americas division at Computer Sciences Corp.'s global outsourcing services group.

Richard Turner joined Redwood City, Calif.-based Clearswift Ltd. as CEO. Turner most recently was vice president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at RSA, EMC Corp.'s security division.

David Canellos was named chief operating officer and president of Vienna, Va.-based Cloakware Inc. Canellos had been interim president of Cloakware for the previous nine months. Dutch digital security company Irdeto acquired Cloakware in December 2007.

Thomas Martella joined AAC Inc. as vice president of the Vienna, Va., company's systems integration group. Martella most recently was a director in Unisys Corp.'s federal civilian business.

Richard Shea joined Lefthand Networks Inc. as vice president of the Boulder, Colo., company's North American sales. Shea most recently was a sales vice president at EqualLogic Inc.

Susan Case joined American Systems Inc. as vice president of the Chantilly, Va., company's national security strategic business area. Case most recently was vice president of business development at L-3 Intelligence Solutions.

Michael Dering was named to the board of directors of Reston, Va.-based Cernium Corp. Dering most recently was president and CEO of ServiceBench Inc.

Eugene Hoffman joined Bethesda, Md.-based Catapult Technology Ltd. as director of proposal services. Hoffman most recently was with Elite Recruiting Group/Qwest Communications.

Olivia Dillan joined AtHoc Inc. as vice president of engineering. Dillan comes to the Burlingame, Calif., company from PGP Corp., where she was group vice president of technology and services. Dillan remains an active member of PGP's technical advisory board.

AFCEA's Washington chapter elected new board members: Sonya Cork of Verizon Business Federal, Fred Justice of Oracle Corp., Gene Kakalec of Science Applications International Corp., Richard Mayo of CACI International Inc., Dennis Moran of Harris Corp., Joseph Nowland of Apptis Inc., Brian Roach of Microsoft Corp., David Romola of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP and Deborah Werner of BAE Inc.

Lance Paoli joined Credant Technologies Inc. as director of the Dallas company's federal defense and intelligence agencies business. Paoli, who retired from the Army as the Joint Forces-Delaware's director of information management, worked with several federal and defense IT companies before joining Credant.

Donna Morea, president of CGI Inc.'s U.S. and India sectors, was named chairwoman of the board of directors for the Northern Virginia Technology Council.

Rick Sterrett joined Cernium Corp. as vice president of operations. Before joining the Reston, Va., company, Sterrett was COO at health care software developer Eko Systems Inc.

Michael Del Checcolo was named vice president of engineering at Raytheon Co.'s Integrated Defense Systems division in Tewksbury, Mass. Del Checcolo most recently was vice president of the IDS Engineering Advanced Technology Directorate.

Rick Mosca joined Gannon Technologies Group LLC, a developer of handwriting recognition and biometrics software technologies, as vice president of products and services. Before joining the Alexandria, Va., company, Mosca was eastern region operations manager at Applied Information Sciences Inc.

Gabby Wong joined Herndon, Va.-based Trusted Computer Solutions Inc. as vice president of professional services. Wong most recently was director of ProSight Inc.'s professional services practice.

Frank Drejka joined SGIS Inc. as area vice president of business development and will be based in the San Diego company's Charlotte office. Drejka most recently was director of operations at General Dynamics IT.

Dean Dierks joined Dynamic Systems Inc. as COO. Before joining the Los Angeles IT service provider, Dierks was vice president of Mullin TBG.

James Yan rejoined InfoPro Inc. as executive vice president and chief consulting officer. Yan, a former chief technology officer of the McLean, Va., company, most recently was an Agriculture Department program manager at SRA International Inc.

John Alfano and Carlo Uchello joined Vangent Inc., based in Arlington, Va. Alfano, who is the company's new vice president of civilian operations, most recently held a similar position at Keane Federal Systems Inc. Before coming to Vangent as vice president of education services, Uchello was senior director of civilian programs at General Dynamics IT.

John Waickwicz joined Alion Science and Technology Inc. as manager of the McLean, Va., company's Navy-focused ship design and engineering group. Waickwicz retired from the Navy as rear admiral and is a former Navy mine and anti-submarine warfare commander.

Joel Pena, William Terry, Wade Brignac, Zachary Rouse and David Robeson joined Diamond Data Systems Inc. Pena is the New Orleans company's new consultant for commercial software engineering solutions. Terry is an experienced consultant for commercial sector project management and analyst solutions. Brignac is a principal consultant for commercial sector project management solutions. Rouse is an experienced consultant for federal sector software engineering. Robeson is a principal consultant for federal sector project management solutions.

Peter Gallagher, Teresa DiMarco and Jerry Hogge joined Unisys Corp. in the Blue Bell, Pa., company's federal systems division. Gallagher is a partner in the division's civilian agencies sector. He most recently was president of development at InfoStructure, an IT consulting company he co-founded. DiMarco joined the company as president, health information management. DiMarco most recently led the health care practice for business process outsourcing consulting firm COPC Inc. Hogge is the new vice president and general manager of Unisys Federal Systems. He most recently was senior vice president and general manager of Level 3 Communications' government markets division.

Kevin Hoehn was named president of Global Electronic Technology Inc. and was elected to the Cypress, Calif., company's board of directors. Hoehn most recently was COO of the company, a position he held since 2003.

Tom Flageollet joined storage and networking developer Hifn as vice president of field operations for the United States and Europe, Middle East and Africa. Most recently, Flageollet was vice president of worldwide sales at Applied Micro Circuits Corp.


At Telos Corp., Ashburn, Va.: Lisa Kimball to vice president of defense manpower data center operations for Telos affiliate Telos Identity Management Solutions LLC.

At Aerospace Corp., El Segundo, Calif.: Rand Fisher to senior vice president of systems planning and engineering in Arlington, Va.

At CapRock Communications Inc., Houston: David Cavossa to vice president of its satellite communications division for Arrowhead Global Solutions. At the El Segundo headquarters, Andrea Amram to general manager of the developmental planning and architectures division in the systems planning and engineering group; Glenn Davis to general manager of the imagery programs division of the national systems group in Chantilly, Va.; David Eccles to general manager of the national space systems engineering division in the systems planning and engineering group in Arlington, Va.; S.
