QinetiQ to buy Dominion Technology Resources

QinetiQ North America Operations LLC will expand its security and intelligence business with the acquisition of Dominion Technology Resources Inc., a provider of high-end products and services to the intelligence community. Financial terms were not disclosed.

DTRI, of Reston, Va., provides complete mission-integrated solutions to intelligence agencies. The company has expertise in emerging technology studies, architecture design and requirements definition analysis. It also provides concept-of-operations development; system design; verification; and validation, deployment and operational assessments.

The company also offers training seminars and courses to government and industry leaders in systems engineering and complex technical systems management.

Dominion Technology Resources will provide important new customer relationships within the intelligence community, said Duane Andrews, QinetiQ North America's chief executive officer. The acquisition will enable QNA "to expand its offerings in the areas of mission analysis, planning, systems engineering and integration support to current and future operations," he said.

Founded in 2002, DTRI is a privately held company. Its management will continue in the business once the acquisition is completed, QinetiQ officials said.

QinetiQ NA, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 24 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
