SAIC completes purchase of SM Consulting

Science Applications International Corp. has completed its acquisition of SM Consulting Inc., a provider of IT and linguistic services.

Science Applications International Corp. has completed its acquisition of SM Consulting Inc., a provider of information technology and linguistic services. Financial terms were not disclosed.

SAIC announced its intention to purchase the company in March. SMC, of Linthicum, Md., will join SAIC's Mission Integration Business Unit, which is based in Reston, Va.

SMC has more than 460 employees who provide services in language, intelligence, IT, management consulting, business process outsourcing, training and logistics to federal, state and local governments and private industry.

Its linguistic services expertise includes foreign language translation, interpretation and training services for the defense and intelligence communities. The company is on the General Services Administration Language Services schedule and in August 2006 was named to the GSA Mission Oriented Business Integrated Services contract.

SAIC, of San Diego, ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
