GD to assist FBI with IT management

General Dynamics Corp. will provide information technology management services to FBI headquarters and field offices under a new contract.

General Dynamics Corp. will provide information technology management services to FBI headquarters and field offices under a new contract that could be worth as much as $83 million over five years.

Under the terms of the contract, General Dynamics Information Technology, of Fairfax, Va., will furnish help-desk support, program management and enterprise operations services. The initial one-year deal is worth $13.7 million, company officials said.

General Dynamics' team members include Innovative Management and Technology Approaches, ZeNETeX, and BAE Systems Inc.

General Dynamics will provide the support through the use of IT infrastructure best-practice process implementations and continuous-improvement frameworks, such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library, company officials said.

The FBI awarded the task order through the GSA Information Technology Schedule program.

General Dynamics ranks No. 6 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
