Perot Systems Corp. has acquired Original Solutions Ltd., an information technology services provider with government and corporate clients in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Original Solutions' competencies include Web applications and client/server development, enterprise integration and systems re-engineering. The Irish company also has significant expertise in managing IT services and infrastructure library processes.
Based in Limerick and Dublin, Original Solutions has about 90 employees and reported revenue of 9 million euros ($13.9 million) in 2007.
The company's clients include Allied Irish Bank, Bank of Ireland, Ireland's Health and Safety Authority and telecommunications companies Eircom and O2 Communications. Founder John Collins will remain as head of the company to facilitate further expansion, Perot Systems' officials said.
The acquisition of Original Solutions strengthens Perot Systems' portfolio of services and capabilities in the Irish market and at the European Medicines Agency, said Stephen Walsh, client executive for Perot Systems in Ireland.
The London-based agency is a decentralized body within the European Union. It seeks to protect and promote public and animal health by testing and evaluating medicines for human and veterinary use.
Perot Systems, of Plano, Texas, ranks No. 41
on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list
of the largest federal government prime contractors.
