ACS stays plugged in with Colo. county

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a contract that to continue furnishing information technology services to Weld County, Colo.

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a contract that could be worth as much as $60 million over 15 years to continue furnishing information technology services to Weld County, Colo.

According to the terms of the agreement, ACS will continue providing IT services such as application support, help-desk personnel and PCs. The company also will deliver geographic information system, Web development and network support. ACS has provided technology support services to the county since 1993, company officials said.

Stretching from the Denver metropolitan area in the south to the borders of Wyoming and Nebraska in the north, Weld County contains 4,004 square miles and is the third largest county in size in Colorado, according to the county's Web site. More than 180,000 people live in Weld County.

ACS, based in Dallas, ranks No. 58 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
