Maximus gets prescription for Calif. Medicaid system

Maximus Inc. will continue to deliver enrollment broker services for California recipients of Medicaid assistance under a new contract worth $208.4 million.

Under the contract, Maximus will handle call-center services and process enrollments, and provide outreach and education efforts for California's Medi-Cal program.

In addition, the Reston, Va., company will deploy a new health plan enrollment system.

The three-year, nine-month contract includes three one-year options. The contract could be worth as much as $411 million if all options are exercised.

The California Department of Health Care Services awarded the contract. Maximus has supplied enrollment broker services to California since 1996.
