Intelligent Decisions Inc. has won a $4.2 million contract from the State Department to provide infrastructure upgrades as part of an ongoing initiative to modernize the department's information technology infrastructure worldwide.

The Global Information Technology Modernization initiative was established in 2004 to ensure that all State Department classified and unclassified systems remain current and incorporate the latest technologies. The goal of the program is to upgrade IT infrastructure at department facilities every four years.

The initiative covers secure integration, seat installations, asset management, logistics and warehousing support, configuration management, component configuration management and other related services.

Intelligent Decisions, based in Ashburn, Va., offers professional services related to IT security, data lifecycle management and networking solutions to the federal government.
