NISC acquires Athenyx

National Interest Security Company LLC has bought Athenyx Inc., a business specializing in information technology services for the intelligence community. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The purchase is expected to significantly boost NISC's capabilities in the intelligence sector, the Fairfax, Va.-based company said.

Athenyx "expertise in software, database and systems engineering and their reputation within the intelligence community will add significantly to the capabilities of NISC," said Thomas Campbell, chairman of NISC and president of DC Capital Partners, a private equity firm that owns NISC.

Athenyx of Columbia, Md., provides support for the design, acquisition, development, integration, deployment and continuing support of information systems for the intelligence community.

NISC specializes in IT, information management and management technology consulting services to the intelligence community and departments of Defense, Energy and Homeland Security.
