Signs of success

The following factors to consider when evaluating a company are adapted from
a presentation by Bill Loomis, a managing director at Stifel Nicolaus.

1. MANAGEMENT

    a. Flexible, adapts quickly.

    b. Thinks beyond current environment.

2. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

    a. Participates in a range of contract vehicles with positions on large task-order contracts.

    b. Has a deep and coordinated strategy.

3. EXECUTION

    a. Wins recompeted contracts.

    b. Shows strong past performance.

4. MARKET POSITION

    a. If a company is strong in the first
    three areas, it should continue to grow
    in a slow market.
