Picture this | Tech firms bring holiday cheer to military families

Verizon Business,
Tandberg, Mesh City and
the Freedom Calls
Foundation worked together
to bring military families
together through videoconferencing.
The companies
connected Marines in
Camp Fallujah and Al Asad
Air Base in Iraq with their
families at Camp
Pendleton, Calif.

A satellite video link
allowed Marines in Iraq
to participate in a Thanksgiving
celebration with
their families.

Verizon Business,
Tandberg and Mesh City
supplied a 9-foot-by-12-foot
video display, communications
links and on-site technical
support at Camp
Pendleton. The Freedom
Calls Foundation, which
offers free calls for troops in
Iraq and Afghanistan, provided
the satellite link to
Freedom Calls centers at
the two locations in Iraq.
