L-3 lands AF warfare training work

L-3 Government Services Inc. has won a $136 million contract to provide academic, training and exercise support to the Air Force, the Defense Department announced this week.

Under the terms of the contract, the company will furnish qualified personnel to conduct operational-level and, in some cases, tactical-level command and control instruction, training, curriculum development, exercise planning and execution, and experimentation support to the 505th Command and Control Wing.

The goal is to help the 505th build proficient air and space command and control capabilities for joint and combined warfighting through testing, exercises and experimentation under the direction of the Air Force Warfare Center at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev.

L-3 Government Services of Chantilly, Va., is a unit of L-3 Communications Corp. of New York. The parent company ranks No. 9 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
