ITT to acquire Dolphin Technology

ITT Corp. plans to purchase Dolphin Technology Inc., a provider of information assurance technologies to the military, intelligence and law enforcement communities. The companies did not disclose the terms of the deal.

The move will bolster the company's capabilities in the research, development and operation of secure information sharing systems for the government and position it to compete for a number of new intelligence and cyber forensics programs, the company said.

The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter.

Dolphin Technology of Rome, N.Y., has about 100 employees and recorded $15 million in sales in 2006.

ITT of White Plains, N.Y., ranks No. 16 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
