Bert Notini, chairman of the board of directors of Apptis Inc., has been named chief executive officer of the information technology company.
Notini has extensive experience managing global technology companies and a broad background in customer-focused information and communications technology and financial and legal affairs, Apptis said.
He was president and chief operating officer of Sonus Networks Inc., a Westford, Mass., provider of voice infrastructure solutions, since April 2004 and a member of its board of directors since 2003.
Notini announced his departure from Sonus Aug. 7, when the company posted a second quarter net loss of $6.98 million, compared to net income of $8.91 million a year earlier. Sonus said he was joining New Mountain Capital LLC as a senior advisor. Apptis is one of New Mountain Capital's portfolio companies.
He also has held executive positions at Manufacturers Services Ltd., a global electronics and supply chain services company, and Wang Global Corp., where he was executive vice president of corporate development and administration, and general counsel.
Apptis of Chantilly, Va., ranks No. 44
