Jean A. Stack is a managing director in Baird’s Global Investment Banking group and is co-head of the firm’s Government & Defense practice. For over 25 years, Ms. Stack has been advising industry-leading companies on mergers & acquisitions, corporate divestitures, financing, and other corporate strategies. She has extensive experience in working with companies that operate in a broad range of technology and service domains including C4ISR, IT modernization, cyber security, space, BPO, software, and consulting, among other market segments.

Ms. Stack’s transaction experience includes sell-side advisory, buy-side advisory and leveraged buy-outs for founder-owned businesses, private equity-owned companies, and U.S. and international corporate divestitures. She has worked with some of the industry’s leading companies including Lockheed Martin, SAIC, Accenture and Boeing. She has closed transactions with private equity institutions including The Carlyle Group, Madison Dearborn, Veritas Capital, and Arlington Capital Partners. Under her leadership, Baird’s Government & Defense team executed 19 transactions valued at over $4.8 billion in 2018 and 2019. Since 2015, the team closed 48 transactions valued at over $9.8 billion.

Recent transaction experience include the acquisition of Dynetics by Leidos, the sale of Knight Point Systems to Perspecta, the sale of MTEQ to QinetiQ, and the divestiture of Leidos Health to ettain group.

Prior to joining Baird, Ms. Stack was a senior banker at Houlihan Lokey and a founding member of Houlihan Lokey’s Aerospace, Defense, and Government Services (ADG) group.

Ms. Stack is a frequent speaker on the government services and technology market and is often quoted in various publications including The Washington Post, Bloomberg, and The Wall Street Journal.

She is a board member of ACG’s National Capital chapter and a board member and executive committee member of the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC).

Ms. Stack graduated cum laude with a BA in economics from Duke University and studied at the London School of Economics.
