Find opportunities — and win them.

Both awards center around the National Assessment of Educational Progress, aka The Nation's Report Card on student achievement.

Westat has won a pair of contracts worth up to $292.4 million combined for data collection and assessment services in support of the Education Department’s efforts to track student achievement across the U.S.

Education received one other bid in each of the contracts that were awarded on Friday, according to Federal Procurement Data System records.

One award focuses on data collection for the National Assessment of Educational Progress, while the second zeroes in on NAEP’s progress support and service center.

Touted as The Nation’s Report Card, NAEP was set up in 1969 to provide the government information about student academic achievement and learning experiences in various subjects.

NAEP is a congressionally-mandated program that is overseen and administered by the National Center for Education Statistics, which is within the Education Department and Institute of Education Sciences.

Westat’s scope of work will also include the training and orientation of coordinators, technical assistance and support, and creating a new infrastructure for NAEP’s electronic delivery system.
