Early on, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) aggressively adopted Knowledge Management (KM) as a means of improving communications, operations, and decision-making in its complex operating environment. For more than ten years, defense programs have leveraged KM principles to evolve today's military as these strategies are changing service doctrine, improving information-sharing, and most importantly, supporting the decision-makers and warfighters in conflict situations. The Digital Government Institute will host an intensive one-day program to review the significant progress made by the DoD and military services to employ KM tools and techniques for improved interoperability, business operations, and decision-support. The conference program will highlight successful knowledge sharing initiatives underway, cross-boundary collaborations by DoD stakeholders, as well as barriers to further progress and discussion of how to remove them. This conference is FREE for government to attend.
