Event: 3rd Annual Brainfood Grill-Off Date: Thursday, June 11, 2009 Time: 6:30-9:30pm Location: Decatur House on Lafayette Square – Carriage House and Courtyard 1610 H Street, NW Washington, DC 20006 Teams of award-winning chefs, amateur grilling aficionados and Brainfood program graduates will compete for top honors at the 3rd Annual Brainfood Grill-Off. Brainfood is a DC-based nonprofit that uses food and cooking as tools to teach life skills and healthy living to teenagers in a safe and positive environment. In addition to the grilling competition, highlights include: hors d’oeuvres, open bar and a silent auction. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Reznick Group and other organizations, 100 percent of ticket sales will be used to help Brainfood to continue serving youths through after school and summer institute programs, including hands-on instruction, educational field trips and guest chef demonstrations. WHO: Local celebrity chefs and food personalities are participating in the event, including Teddy Folkman, executive chef at Granville Moore’s and finalist on the new season of The Next Food Network Star, premiering on June 7th. Emcee for the evening is Leon Harris, news anchor from WJLA-TV ABC7.
