CONTRACT AWARD

Peraton can claim this $2B military health IT win

A team led by Peraton and Capgemini’s government solutions business has won a potential 10-year, $2 billion blanket purchase agreement to act as a lead enterprise IT systems integrator for the Defense Health Agency.

DHA received seven quotes for this single-award BPA that covers work over one initial base year and up to nine option years, the Defense Department said in its Friday awards digest.

DOD's notice lists Perspecta as one of the leaders in this contractor teaming arrangement that was selected for the award. Peraton absorbed Perspecta earlier this year.

Solicitation documents outline how the agency sought an integrator to help consolidate IT services, standardize enterprise-wide processes to facilitate IT service delivery and transition existing contracts like the DHA Global Service Center service desk.

That feeds into how DHA is taking on more oversight of the Military Health System and medical treatment facilities, the latter of which have been historically managed by the service branches.

Known by the acronym MHS EITSI, the new Military Health System Enterprise IT Services Integrator contract brings together requirements from at least six predecessor contracts including Perspecta as an incumbent.

Deltek data lists the other incumbents as including Leidos, KSJ & Associates, NetImpact Strategies, STS System Integration and Tuckn K Government Services.

EITSI is one of three major contracts DHA is awarding through the larger MHS Enterprise IT Services program, which also includes the new Capability Service Provider and Geographic Service Provider award.

DHA has set Sept. 7 as the industry day for the GSP program.
