AE Industrial's latest deal reveal is a pair

AE Industrial Partners has been busy lately announcing several acquisitions with the latest being a pair of deals across both the government and commercial travel sectors that are being combined into a single new entity.

AE Industrial Partners has been busy lately on the acquisition announcement front and the private equity investor’s latest deal is one that stretches across its three focus areas of aerospace, defense and government services.

In a release Wednesday, AEI said it acquired software and digital services provider Linkware along with the security and travel consultancy PRE that does business under the name Pangiam.

Both companies will come together and be operated under the Pangiam brand, but the Linkware name will continue to be used for digital services to government agencies. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

Kevin McAleenan, a Pangiam co-founder and former U.S. Customs & Border Protection commissioner, has been appointed CEO of the combined Pangiam business. McAleenan joined AEI as an operating partner earlier this year shortly after he resigned from his most recent government position as acting homeland security secretary.

Alexandria, Virginia-based Linkware was founded 2011 and provides customized software to federal agencies in areas such as biometrics, facial recognition, deep learning and artificial intelligence. Linkware’s four co-founders will continue as managing directors -- Leo Fthenos, Bobby Paraskevopoulos, Howard Stone and Vasilios Tzeremes.

McAleenan, fellow CBP alum Patrick Flanagan and Dave Reisfelder started Pangiam to provide security and travel consulting services to commercial customers.

Pangiam touts its flagship offering as being a pre-clearance travel technology architecture designed to enhance both security and the overall passenger experience.
