Hitachi Vantara Federal appoints new CTO

Hitachi Vantara Federal has promoted 25-year IT veteran and former engineering director Gary Hix to the role of chief technology officer.

Hix will oversee the company’s strategy execution and innovation efforts for government clients with other responsibility for the solutions consultant team, according to a release Tuesday.

Prior to this role, he was director of engineering and before that a data center architect for the company when it was known as Hitachi Data Systems Federal.

His career also includes work at IBM as a program architect for that company’s cloud services division and at Novus Consulting Group as a channel technology executive.
