KBR scores $570M NASA takeaway win

KBR’s government services segment has won a potential eight-year, $570.3 million contract to help NASA manage facilities and systems at the agency’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Alabama.

NASA said Thursday it selected a proposal from Stinger Ghaffarian Technologies, which KBR acquired two years ago to deepen its presence in civilian and national security space programs. Work will take place over one initial base year slated to begin Oct. 1, followed by one two-year option and up to five one-year option periods.

For KBR and heritage SGT, this represents a takeaway win of a consolidated contract that combined two others whose incumbents are Colsa Corp. and Teledyne Brown Engineering. Both of those contracts are slated to expire Sept. 30.

The new Marshall Operations Services, Systems and Integration contract known as MOSSI covers broad support and products to support spaceflight operations that are the responsibility of NASA’s Human Exploration Development and Operations Office at Marshall.

NASA’s HEDO Office provides engineering and other services for current programs such as the International Space Station and Space Launch System.
