DOT makes awards on $700M enterprise IT contract

The Transportation Department has made two awards on a potential seven-year, $700 million IT services contract to Unisys Corp. and Veritium Ingenuity.

DOT received four bids in total for the Enterprise IT Shared Services contract also known as EITSS, according to Federal Procurement Data System information. Veritium received its award on Dec. 19, 2019, followed by Unisys on Jan. 10.

EITSS supports the department’s office of the chief information officer in developing and implementing an enterprise IT infrastructure and common operating environment across DOT.

Work is broken out into three main areas including infrastructure management, end user and program management. Awardees will vie for services to support the department’s data network, provide security services, manage applications, incident response efforts and IT continuity functions.

Actionet was the incumbent for the work and that contract expires on March 31. Unisys was chosen for the new contract’s unrestricted portion and Veritium Ingenuity was apparently selected for the small business set aside track, according to Deltek data.

Veritium Ingenuity is a joint venture of ProSphere Tek and Premier Enterprise Solutions that holds small business designations including woman-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned, 8(a) and minority owned.

Science Applications International Corp. filed a pre-award protest in September but withdrew it two months later, a move that cleared DOT to proceed on making awards.
