Navy chooses eight for $958M shore-based C4ISR contract

Eight companies take seats on a $968.1 million contract to install C4ISR systems on Navy shore-based facilities.
Eight companies have won positions on a potential 10-year, $968.1 million contract to install so-called “C4ISR” systems on Navy shore-based facilities around the world.
The Navy received nine bids in total for the contract and hence one proposal was not selected for an award, according to the Defense Department’s Thursday contracts digest.
Awardees will bid for task orders over the contract’s duration of five base years followed by an additional five-year option. They will put in place command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems and other equipment.
Winners are:
- Cambridge International Systems
- Huntington Ingalls Industries
- KBRwyle
- M.C. Dean
- Parsons
- Serco Inc. -- the British contractor’s Americas region subsidiary
- SigNet Technologies
- VT Milcom -- a subsidiary of VT Group
This contract is a brand new requirement and thus there was no incumbent, but is a companion of a potential $2.45 billion award the Navy made in July for similar C4ISR installation work on afloat platforms such as ships.
Huntington Ingalls, M.C. Dean, Serco Inc. and VT Milcom have seats on both contracts.
