DARPA selects 7 for $850M 'TASS' services contract

DARPA chooses seven companies for its $850 million "TASS" professional, scientific and technical services contract.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has awarded seven companies spots on a five-year, $850 million contract for professional, scientific and technical services.

DARPA received 12 total bids for the Technical and Analytic Support Services contract, also known as "TASS" and one of the most-anticipated defense services opportunities this year.

Work will encompass high-level advisory and assistance services to all DARPA technical and support offices, the Defense Department said in its Monday contracts digest. That scope includes the DARPA director's office and nine others, although solicitation documents indicated the agency could add or delete offices from the contract as needed.

Awardees are:

  • Booz Allen Hamilton
  • Centra Technology
  • E3 Federal Solutions
  • ECS Federal
  • ManTech International
  • Schafer Corp. (acquired by Belcan)
  • Strategic Analysis Inc.

They will compete to provide technical, financial, administrative, acquisition, business process, public affairs, legislative affairs, legal matters and event help to DARPA in support of the agency's overall national security technology investment mission.
