Eight take spots on $2.4B Army training services contract

Eight companies have won positions on a potential five-year, $2.4 billion contract to provide and manage training and training assistance services to the Army for military- and civilian-related subjects.

The Army received 42 bids for the contract that also covers operations and maintenance sustainment functions for training aids, devices and ranges. The Defense Department said in its Tuesday contracts digest that the work supports training for contingency operations and planning for Army, joint and security cooperation exercises.

• Engineering & Computer Solutions
• Lukos-VATC joint venture (small business)
• PAE
• Pulau Corp.
• Trideum Corp. (small business)

This new Enterprise Training Services Contract is for services currently performed under the massive Warfighter Focus contract held by Raytheon since 2008.

The Army is breaking out Warfighter Focus into three separate recompete contracts with the first $3.5 billion piece awarded to Lockheed Martin in March for training aids and other tools for use on instrumentation systems and live-fire ranges.

Raytheon filed a protest in April against Lockheed winning the TADSS Maintenance Program award and a decision from the Government Accountability Office is due by July 11.

A third portion with a $785 million ceiling for training and support services at Fort Huachuca in Arizona is due for award by September, in line with the government fiscal year’s end.

Raytheon was awarded a one-year extension in October to continue work under the current Warfighter Focus contract and that bridge also includes a pair of six-month options.
