Sevatec hires former acting ICE CIO Smith

Sevatec has hired 35-year government service veteran Steven Smith as senior vice president of federal civilian programs.

Smith will oversee the IT contractor’s agile delivery services and help carry out the company’s strategic growth objectives, Sevatec said Wednesday.

More recently, Smith was acting chief information officer at Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. He also worked at the Commerce Department’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration in support of the agency’s efforts to establish the nationwide FirstNet communications network for first responders.

His career also includes senior posts at the White House Communications Agency, Defense Information Systems Agency, Federal Highway Administration and Army.
