NCI promotes Gillespie to COO

NCI Inc. promotes Sandra Gillespie from the senior vice president ranks to chief operating officer at the government IT contractor.

NCI Inc. said Tuesday it has promoted Sandra Gillespie from the senior vice president ranks to chief operating officer at the Reston, Virginia-based government IT contractor.

A three-decade IT veteran, Gillespie will lead NCI’s work to reorganize its structure by capability and customer set, as well as oversee all of the company’s operational programs.

Her promotion is another step in NCI’s effort over the past year under CEO Paul Dillahay’s leadership to recast itself as a provider of high-end artificial intelligence and analytics tools to the government market. NCI was acquired and taken private last year, then undertook a rebranding initiative.

Gillespie was more recently senior vice president and general manager of NCI’s agile and analytics sector.

Prior to NCI, she was senior vice president of health and compliance programs at CGI Federal. Gillespie has also held executive roles at Capgemini’s federal business, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, DynCorp and the former GTSI.
